Beautiful locks of hair are one of the best things on earth
to have. It jazzes up any outfit, it helps to keep you warm in the winter, it
shines and smells nice – I can go on and on. But this is only true for those
days that you actually have time to wash and dry your hair. Other than that –
long beautiful hair is a pain in the butt.
I love my hair. I especially love the fact that it is very
long. For a while now I have been growing my hair – I have this vision of Kim
Kardashian type hair – wavy and long enough to cover my boobs. Yes, that is
what I aimed for. I want to stand in front of the mirror – half naked- with my
hair covering my boobs. This was my goal – and finally I achieved it. It is so
cool it is difficult to get dressed in the mornings because I am spending so
much time in front of the mirror combing my hair and staring at myself. Vain –
I know.
Unfortunately the awesomeness of my locks soon disappeared.
Daily life started to cast a shadow over me and my wonderful hair. It became
increasingly difficult to keep my hair clean. The downside of long, beautiful
hair is the time that goes into maintaining it. Not only did it take a lot of
time – it felt like a futile practice. Mondays to Wednesdays it was a complete
waste if I washed my hair due to the fact that I danced each day.
Thursdays was ‘wash
your hair day’, and then maybe Friday or Saturday. Sundays once again felt like
a waste because on Monday my hair would be full of sweat once more.
While running around between work and studies, I really just
did not have the energy or motivation to pay so much attention to my hair and
cutting it shorter was just not an option for me. I wanted long hair – I now
have long hair – therefore SOMEHOW I will have to find a way to make my long
hair and life get along with each other.
One day I was flipping through a magazine while
procrastinating over my studies and my eye caught a paragraph about a new trend
–‘dry shampoo’. Clean and fresh hair – without washing. Unbelievable. Amazing.
Revolutionary. MUST OWN PRODUCT!!!!!
New mission in life = buy dry shampoo.
And so I did. Problem = Solved!!!!
It may seem lazy or disgusting to you – OR it may sound
ingenious and life changing. Whichever, it works, and that is all that
matters. I now have my awesome Kim
Kardashian – boob length locks – everyday, and it looks clean and smells nice.
End of story.
